The following is the Bridge Coach Getting Started Guide Text Version: We suggest all users 'Play Trial Deals' from the opening page of Bridge Coach for guidelines on the bidding process. There are on-screen instructions available throughout the program which you may switch off at any time, the following is a basic guide to get you started with the bidding process. Step 1: Opening the Deal Pages Select 'Deal 1' from the 'Trial Deals' menu and you are presented with the card play area, click 'Next' at the bottom of the screen to advance to the bidding area. Step 2: 1 No Trump Opening Bids and Responses The bidding area will open, with explanatory text about what you will be learning to do and buttons to exit the process, view a glossary of terms and the 'Start' button.
Click in the green box to start the process. Step 3: Entering Points Count The next section asks you to enter the points in your hand, there is help to do this by clicking the bar above as well as instructions in the red text to enter your points. You must enter the correct points count to advance to the next section.
Step 4: Identifying the Suit The next section asks you for the number of suits you have with more than 3 cards, enter your answer in the drop down box and then how many cards you have in that suit in the next drop down box that appears, and the name of that suit in the next box that appears. (It is possible to bypass the questions when you think you know the bid by clicking on the tick box above the points display).
Step 5: Bidding You are then shown the 'Auction' step. Starting with the box displaying your bid, click in the green box as it appears on the screen to move the program on.
When you have completed all 4 boxes, you can click on them again for text on how the auction went. Click on the red bar to play the hand and the auction box will disappear. Step 6: Play the Cards The commentary on the hand is displayed on the right, follow the instructions to play the hand correctly. You play the hand at the top of the sreen as indicated by the arrow. Select the card to be played by clicking on any visible part of the card. When the first 'trick' is complete the arrow indicates the winner of the trick, click anywhere in the play area to continue. On the play of the last card, all four hands are displayed and the auction, study the cards and review how the hand was played. Finally click the 'Next' button to obtain a menu offering replays, skipping to the next hand or returning to the deal index to pick another section. |
