MINI BRIDGE TO BRIDGE

"Mini Bridge to Bridge" is a series of eight Lessons which is suitable for children nine years or older. It is designed for the absolute novice who has never had any experience with playing cards.

The lessons introduce the students to the names of the suits and the cards and brings in fun mental arithmetic to assess hand strength.

The teacher does not need to know how to play bridge but has full control of the lessons which are presented in Microsoft PowerPoint.

There is a built in verbal commentary and all the script used is available to the teacher as text documents as part of the FREE downloadable files.

The Lessons are split into eight easy to download self extracting zipped folders. You may benefit from creating a folder on your PC to recieve the zipped files and clicking on the 'Save' button when performing the download. When saved to your folder, double click the files to extract them.

LESSON 1

Contents: Guidelines - Instructions and suggestions (Word document). 'Things to do List' (Text document) - Instructions for setting up the lessons on a PC and installing the PowerPoint Viewer. A folder containing the full transcript of all the lesson commentary and score sheets for printing prior to the lessons as well as Lesson 1: A guide to the suits, cards scoring and tricks.

LESSON 2

Contents: More rules on points, a guide to card play and the rules on playing Mini Bridge.

LESSON 3

Contents: More card play, a Mini Bridge guide and an audio/video file for practising points calculation.

LESSON 4

Contents: More card play and a guide to Trumps.

LESSON 5

Contents: More card play, more guides to Trumps and an introduction to the Finesse.

LESSON 6

Contents: More score sheets for printing, guides to basic scoring and the bridge scorer program as well as more card play.

LESSON 7

Contents: Guides to points adjustments, contracts and more card play.
